hey guys im new here...

im trying to start my own clothing/jewelery site and i had a few qustions...

for t shirt/bag stenciling i usually use acrylic paint.

the only problem is that the paint is stiff and gross after, and doesn't leave much room for error.

is there any kind of paint or ANYTHING i can use besides a silk screen that will move with the fabric instead of making it hard and shitty?

also, what kinds of clothing designs/t shirts would you ladies and gents like to see more of? im trying to reach everyone here with my designs but it's hard to unless i know what people like/are lacking.

any kind of help would be so greatly appreciated thank you!

Screen printing and fabric paint

So I want to learn how do simple at home screen printing. I already found one with an embroidery hoop and modpodge, and that turn out to be a blob.
If you know any tutorials for easy, cheap, and nice screen printing, let me know!

I also have heard about just using a stencil with like speedball paint, has anyone tried that? Does it work well?

I have a question about cleaning the screen filler off the screen too.

This is my first time using a silkscreen, and I'm confused/frustrated.

I let the screen filler sit on it for about a week, but now I'm trying to scrub it off. Most of it came off, but I can still see the design. Does it all have to come off just like new? Or is this fine?

I've been using soft scrub because I don't really have anything else to use.
Any suggestions?

I need to get this done so I can make a new screen before tomorrow.

Thanks for your help.

I understand the screen printing process, but I have one simple question about the Photographic Emulsion Method.

When you burn the picture on do you have to use the transparancy paper or can you use something else? I dont really feel like spending $25 dollars for 110 sheets. Any suggestions will be welcomed!!

Thanks for your time

Silk Screening

Hey!
I checked the memories but didn't really find what i was looking for.
I was wondering if anyone could direct me to a really good/detailed silk screening tutorial or live journal community.

Thanks so much!

I have recently discovered I hate most of the tee shirt designs I have seen and I hope to design my own. I have seen some of the stenciling tutorials that have been put up but I was wondering is that the best way to make one or two of the same shirts? Screenprinting would be better off for making a lot of one design wouldnt it? But if I was to purchase the materials for screenprinting can I get everything I need at any craft store or do I need to go to a hobby store? Im really looking forward to a lot of input as I dont want to go out and get a lot of useless materials. Also if you are a vetren at either of these techniques then any suggestion would be most helpful.

Thank you for any input!!!

New here.

Hello all.

I am new to this group, and I have been having some problems trying to find resources for learning how to make your own silk screen. I have finished working on a few designs for t-shirts, but I hit a dead end. If anyone knows about diy screen printing, please comment, I really need your help!

Thanks!
